Non-Finance Managers

You may be in marketing, human resources (people & culture), engineering & maintenance, research & development, logistics, information technology, property management or any other area of the business. If you have budget, cost centre, profit centre, or any other financial responsibility, you make decisions that affect your area’s and the whole business’s finances.

No doubt you are held accountable for your numbers and so must be able to explain your cost and profit reports to your boss. For that you must be able to analyse financial statements and to do that properly you must understand when sales become revenues, when inventory becomes cost and what depreciation really is, among other things. And then there’s the working capital and cash flow to consider…

All this concerns not just the financial performance of your area but of that in the context of the business as a whole. Understanding Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements and Financial Statements broadly is important, as these Finance Courses show.
